ARTISTS
Franca Rubilar
I am a self-taught watercolor artist with over seven years of experience, painting loose and expressive pieces inspired by the simple moments of daily life. Originally from Chile, a land of art, poetry, and wine, and now based in the U.S., I transform ordinary experiences into soft, vibrant works that capture emotion and connection.
And I love sharing my passion for watercolor through weekend classes and workshops, creating spaces for others to explore their own community.

This Painting is part of a triptych that I did of three of the most famous part three golf holes in the country. The other two are number 17 at TPC Sawgrass and number seven at Pebble Beach. I am a wildlife Artist so I always include some type of wildlife creature. I use watercolor, but do not consider myself a watercolor. I use watercolor, more opaque and with lots of detail.

I?ve been coming to this spot for years, enjoying the river and the sun on this beautiful strip. I hoped to catch the energy of the water, and used orange under painting to convey the energy from the sun. This area represents the quintessential Jacksonville! Sun, water, bridges, and lovely homes.

Title or Location: Beyond the Rush
This drawing captures a hidden passage tucked within an old European village?a place where time slows and ordinary architecture becomes quietly sacred. The narrow alley, weathered stone, climbing vines, and layered rooftops are meant to evoke the feeling of stumbling upon a forgotten corner of the world where life moves at a gentler pace. It reflects the beauty of stillness, solitude, and the quiet stories held within places often overlooked.

Au C?ur du Silence By Jeannie ChapmanJacksonville, FloridaThere is a moment in the natural world that often goes unseen?not because it is hidden, but because it is quiet.Au C?ur du Silence was born from that kind of moment. In the dense hush of a forest, two great egrets stand over their nest?not in spectacle, but in stillness. Their wings open not in flight, but in shelter. Their bodies mirror one another, curved inward, forming a space that feels both intimate and infinite. Wha

This is Marley, one of my loopy border collies. I managed to take the reference photo for this drawing in one of his quiet moments, while he was hugging his favourite toy and stopping his brother Bob from stealing it! It was a challenge drawing him on pastelmat as I'm not too experienced with it but quiete happy with how he came out! He's drawn in a mix of faber castel polychromos, caran d'ache luminance and some derwent drawing pencils.

I loved this photograph from John Strachan photography and finally got around to painting it in acrylic. I tried to be quite loose with the painting as there was so much detail. in the end I thought the sky looked a bit bare so with the help of Chat GPT I added seagulls to the photo and was then able to paint them into my art work. This painting will be heading for the Aberdeen art show the end of August for sale.
