REVIEWS
What I enjoyed the most about the event was the opportunity to meet two talented local artists. It was a casual encounter, which is why the focus was more centered on the artworks of the group members, which wasn't exactly what I had in mind. Engaging in conversations with them about their techniques and concepts was a valuable experience that enriched my understanding of art. We share some time together and did a bit of drawing.

My grandfather started the first ice-cream company in Chicago. Delivering ice-cream to corner drug stores by horse and buggy. I recently visited the area where the factory was and loved the old brick buildings. I thought about all the stories and history that happened in these old structures. Everyone has a different story and background and sees the world distorted with their own backgrounds and understating of the world. Please take a look at this city. What stories unfold? What do you see? I

This piece was created for an art exhibition called "In the Style of." I decided to do a portrait of my daughter-in-law Stefanie in the style of Tamara De Lempicka. Tamara was an incredible Art Deco artist. Some referred to her style as soft cubism. Many are not familiar with her work when you mention her name. If you see her work, you will recognize it. She was a portrait painter that was ahead of her time. There is an upcoming Broadway play about this complex woman in the spring of 2024

This painting was created in 16 hours and was a mother daughter collaboration. It sold in less than 24 hours at the Northeast Inshore Slayers Tournament. This was one of my most liked paintings to date.

I had never really done any portraits in my art. I felts little intimidated by them. Not wanting to make them look weird or disproportionate I then realized that with every person I encountered I was studying their features. I started practicing a few months ago and it came to me pretty quickly. With every portrait I feel more confident. I just had to over come that fear and uncertainty and it just spilled into the paper. I can?t wait to see how much better it can get. I suggest everyone try i

Some times I like to explore the feelings of painting portraits from traditional well known artists like Bouguereau by selecting a section from their entire piece.

20x24 mixed media on canvasI knew for two weeks before hand that I wanted to try a cityscape with a crow in it while utilizing texture paste and acrylic ink, to add to my new decor. I was experiencing sadness of loss one day and just had to paint. My mood is definitely reflected in this despite my original intentions. I added the old pocket watch in the crows mouth for the illustration of the stolen time.
