REVIEWS
What I enjoyed the most about the event was the opportunity to meet two talented local artists. It was a casual encounter, which is why the focus was more centered on the artworks of the group members, which wasn't exactly what I had in mind. Engaging in conversations with them about their techniques and concepts was a valuable experience that enriched my understanding of art. We share some time together and did a bit of drawing.

ARTISTS
Kendall Lowder
Kendall is your local nerd and shark enthusiast. She graduated from the University of North Florida with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Photography in 2022.

She is really passionate about photographing still lives and nature.

If you ever get a chance to check out her works, she tends to make darker themed art, but she still has goofy, more whimsical side and loves to make silly little doodles here and there.

She does both digital and traditional art on the side as well!

Title or Location: Lion in charcoal
My first charcoal drawing is in loving memory of my late mother who loves all cats. Mom would say how she would love to cuddle these majestic creatures when she got to heaven. I started drawing in 2022 with regular graphite pencils but rarely made time to be creative. In 2023 I started art classes with pastels and fell in love with art. My graphite pencils came in a set with charcoals so I decided to give it a try. The subject of this artwork isn't mine. Permission was given from the photograph

Title or Location: Old Florida Landscape
36x48 box canvas oil painting This is an old Florida landscape, I used multiple photos of surrounding Florida landscapes to create this serene and peaceful painting. I added cabbage palms, cypress trees and an egret that is common in Florida areas. He is on the way to catch his lifelong mate behind the cypress trees. This is how I imagine old Florida nature would look before we started building homes near waterfront areas. This hangs proudly now in a lakefront property here in Florida.

This was painted in 2020 during a time where we all reflected on life, ourselves, our connections past and present. Looking inwards as to what really mattered deep down. For myself I used artwork as my own therapy, reflecting on my Grandad's link to the Wildlife Trust and how some day I could give back myself, with the goal to creating a series of works based on woodland birds, animals and insects. The love and joy of all creatures big and small.

Title or Location: Tea Party at the Bennerley Viaducts.
This work is one of a collection of works based on the Iron Giant that is now a world heritage site. In my childhood I spent a lot of time down near the viaducts and in the summer time me and my siblings would have picnics on the common ground nearby. The tea party situated in the painting is where we used to have our picnics during the long hot summers of the 1960s.As I got older we used to walk along the planks that were high up just underneath the viaduct and a lot of the planks were miss

Title or Location: Fire Dragon
I've recently discovered wire art as a medium through researching artists who explore memory, as a part of my Fine Arts degree. I immediately found an affinity with it and began to experiment. The dragon is a commission, he is my own design. I started with a simple drawing, built a frame, and then let my imagination run riot - this is the result.
